Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries has won praise for his barnstorming two-way display in yesterday’s Serie A draw against Bologna.
As Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb note, the player ratings for the Dutchman were postivie across Italian media.
Dumfries was in the Inter starting eleven for yesterday’s match against Bologna.
The 28-year-old continued a run of starts for the Nerazzurri.
Dumfries did not begin the season as a pillar of the first-choice Inter lineup. However, in recent weeks he has been a real stalwart.
This has coincided with Dumfries reaching some of his very best form on a physical level. And that was certainly evident against Bologna yesterday.
Dumfries had a tough assignment marking Bologna Dan Ndoye. The Swiss international is one of the Rossoblu’s fastest and most technically skilled players.
However, this was no problem for Dumfries. He stuck to his task well in defense, and was more than a match for Ndoye’s pace.
And at the other end, Dumfries showed his attacking proficiency.
The former PSV wingback was the scorer of Inter’s first goal. This came about because of his marauding run into the penalty area, as well as his ability to time his attacking movement.
