An up-and-coming member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona now appears increasingly likely to stay put with the club through the close of the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Jan Virgili as the player in question.
Youngster Virgili saw his name emerge as an altogether prominent one in the transfer headlines surrounding Barcelona earlier this summer.
This came after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the 19-year-old was giving real consideration to a departure, in search of regular first-team football.
With as much in mind, RCD Mallorca went on to express a keen interest in bringing Virgili in.
The Bermellones, however, refused to meet the financial demands laid out by their counterparts at Barcelona.
Negotiations, in turn, reached an impasse.
And if the latest word stemming from the media on Wednesday is anything to go by, then these developments look set to culminate in Virgili staying put in Catalunya’s capital for the season ahead.
As per a report from MD, the winger’s exit has ‘cooled’ significantly over the last couple of weeks, with Virgili preparing himself for another year in Blaugrana colours as a result.
