Manchester City are set to lose an attacking talent from their academy system to Premier League rivals West Ham United, a new report has revealed.

The latest development concerning outgoings from Manchester City and their Academy system comes as the club continue their drive towards recruiting the next big names from the youth levels of the game across the globe.

The recent January transfer window saw Manchester City finalise a deal for the Philadelphia Union attacking midfield wonderkid Cavan Sullivan, with the 14-year-old penning a deal that will see him move to the Etihad Stadium when he turns 18-years-old.

There has also been conversation from within Spanish media that the Premier League champions are rivalling Real Madrid for the signature of 16-year-old River Plate midfielder Franco Mastantuono.

However, the latest details to emerge concerning Manchester City and their youth talents will see an exit from the City Football Academy, with the London Stadium being the destination for one teenage prospect.

That is according to new information from The Secret Scout, who reveal that West Ham United set to sign Manchester City forward David Chigwada, just two-years on from his move to the City Football Academy from Blackburn Rovers.

The report describes the 16-year-old as a ‘quick attacker’, who played centrally at Blackburn but was used more as a winger during his time with City, and will go on to fulfil a position eyed for recruitment in West Ham’s under-18s squad.

Chigwada went viral earlier this year for a skill move termed ‘The Chigwada Spin’, as he starred for Manchester City’s under-17 squad at the Future Cup, an annual youth tournament organised by Dutch giants Ajax.

Such was the fascination around the skill move that media outlet The Athletic chose to run an entire story breaking down an outrageous piece of skill, while video footage of the move circulated across social media.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Chigwada, however there is seemingly a belief from the player’s side, and from within his representative team, that West Ham could offer him greater chances of reaching the top of senior professional football than Manchester City.
