Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has made his intentions clear that he only wants to return to Real Betis, rejecting an opportunity to move to Saudi Arabia this summer, claims a report from Fichajes.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a return to Benito Villamarin throughout the transfer window, but negotiations have stalled due to Real Madrid’s financial demands.
While a reunion always felt possible in past windows, a mix of priorities, figures, and timing prevented it from happening. This summer, however, the situation appears different.
Ceballos’ role at Madrid has diminished in recent seasons, with fierce competition in midfield limiting his minutes.
While he remains a valuable rotation option, the lack of guaranteed continuity has pushed him toward a change.
At this stage of his career, Ceballos is prioritising passion over paychecks, a decision underlined by his refusal to consider a lucrative switch to the Saudi Pro League.

Real Madrid are open to letting him leave if a reasonable offer arrives. The club is reportedly seeking a transfer fee between €10 million and €12 million, a fair valuation given his experience and quality.
However, Los Blancos have no intention of letting him go for less, making negotiations with Betis potentially tricky.
For the player, though, the destination is non-negotiable. Returning to Betis is not just a career move but an emotional decision, one rooted in his deep connection to the club where he first made his name.
His rejection of Saudi Arabia, a league that has lured many top stars with massive contracts, further shows his determination to prioritise footballing satisfaction over financial gain.
As the transfer window edges closer to its end, all eyes will be on whether Betis can meet Madrid’s demands and finally bring Ceballos back home.
