Roma, Milan and Juventus were linked with a swoop for Spain international Alvaro Morata, but reports this evening suggest he will join Al-Qadsiah instead.

The Atletico Madrid striker has said several times this summer that he is frustrated at the constant rumours of strikers coming to join the club, recognising he is not seen as a priority at the Wanda Metropolitano.

A return to Serie A seemed entirely likely, especially with a release clause of €15m and the possibility he could be allowed to leave for just €10-12m.

Morata a cheap and trusted alternative for Serie A

However, Spanish site Relevo claim this evening that Morata is very close to agreeing terms with Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah FC.

They already signed Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez last week and are prepared to offer Morata a massive salary.

The former Juventus hitman will turn 32 in October and has shown during the EURO 2024 performances that he can still contribute at the top level.
