This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

This will be a hugely important summer for Carboni’s future at Inter.

The 19-year-old has taken a big step into the senior game over the last twelve months.

Last summer, Carboni made the move to Monza on loan. That loan spell proved to be a successful one, insofar as it allowed the Argentine to receive regular playing time in Serie A.

And as a result, Carboni is now even part of the Argentina national team setup.

The 19-year-old is part of the Albiceleste’s squad at the Copa America.

And it has also, unsurprisingly, led to a fair bit of transfer interest in Carboni.

All of Fiorentina, Atalanta, and Lazio are keen on Carboni.

And it is not just clubs in Serie A who are eyeing up the teenage attacking midfielder. Ligue 1, in fact, could very well be Carboni’s next destination.

Marseille Push For Valentin Carboni – Inter At A Crossroads

Marseille have emerged as serious contenders to sign Carboni this summer.

According to the Corriere, the French side see the 19-year-old as a major target for this summer.

Former Sassuolo, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Brighton and Hove Albion coach Roberto De Zerbi has taken over on the Marseille bench.

And the new coach, along with the club’s sporting staff, are all in agreement that Carboni would be a massive addition to their squad.

The Corriere note that Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio met with agent Edoardo Crnjar yesterday.

Given that Crnjar represents De Zerbi, the newspaper speculate that the Marseille coach’s interest in Carboni certainly came up during the two men’s conversation.

And according to the Corriere, Inter would have given Marseille fairly clear conditions as far as selling the Argentine.

On the one hand, Inter do not want to give up control of Carboni’s future.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri would be happy to negotiate another loan. This could very well contain a purchase option, and then a buyback option.

But if Inter are to sell Carboni outright this summer, then it will have to be for a very high fee.

The Corriere report that the Nerazzurri would want at least €35-40 million for the young attacking midfielder.
