Manchester City could now be subject to transfer interest from Serie A giants Juventus this summer, as the market intensifies for one of the club’s highly-valued defenders.

That interest is said to concern Yan Couto, who returns to the Etihad Stadium this summer off the back of a hugely successful season on loan at City Football Group club Girona in La Liga, securing the organisation Champions League football for next season.

The Premier League champions are able to boast a whole host of strong options in the right-back position, and as such any hopes of Yan Couto breaking into Pep Guardiola’s set-up appear to be slim.

Kyle Walker continues to be viewed as the club’s best right-back for the immediate term, whilst there is plenty of confidence from coaching staff over Rico Lewis and John Stones’ abilities to operate in the position.

As such, Manchester City are likely to look into the possibility of selling Yan Couto whilst his stock is at his highest, and could now entertain approaches from Italy as the Brazilian looks to take his career to the next level.

According to the information of Italian newspaper Tuttosport, as translated and relayed by Football Italia, Serie A giants Juventus have now set their sights on Manchester City and Brazil international full-back Yan Couto.

Couto is expected to have his immediate future decided once again in the coming weeks following another successful loan spell with Girona, and while Juventus are said to be willing to discuss a loan deal, City are eyeing a permanent fee close to £40 million.

Etihad Stadium officials are also likely to assess the market for potential interest in fellow right-back prospect Issa Kabore, with the Burkina Faso international returning to the club from a loan stay with Luton Town.

The 23-year-old is likely to attract interest from the Premier League after several promising showings under Rob Edwards last campaign, including an assist against Liverpool at Kenilworth Road.

Everton’s name has been thrown into the mix during the opening weeks of the ongoing summer window, however it remains unknown as to whether the Goodison Park club do have concrete interest in the defender.
