Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi believes that the club are ‘aligned’ from top to bottom, including himself, coach Claudio Ranieri and the club’s owners after a tricky start to life at the Stadio Olimpico, and has promised that two key first-team players are close to signing new contract extensions.
Ghisolfi spoke to Sky Sport Italia ahead of Roma’s upcoming Serie A match away against Parma on Sunday afternoon.
Ghisolfi was willing to accept the fact that some mistakes were made when he first joined the team over the summer, but believes the backroom staff are now taking the right steps and are beginning to spot positive signs.
“Clearly we didn’t do everything right. It was a difficult situation when I came in over the summer. We’ve gone through the storm without giving up. Today we have a good organization, we are aligned with the owners,” the Giallorossi director told Sky.
And on Ranieri, he added: “We are aligned with him. He’s not here for the money or his ego. He is here for Roma and he is doing well.”

Ghisolfi went on to explain that both he and Ranieri signed off on the players that Roma brought in over the January transfer window.
“We agree on the players to take. We don’t ask for time, we are Roma and we always have to win. But we have to work to be strong tomorrow. The ownership has an ambitious project.”
He also revealed that both Mile Svilar and Niccolo Pisilli are close to committing to new contracts.
“They are the future of Roma. We are also working on the Primavera. But I also want to say that if a player doesn’t want to stay, we won’t stop anyone.
“With Svilar we are working on the contract. Pisilli is giving everything, the renewal will come soon.”
