Ibrox Noise takes you through the scores on a proper Rangers Thursday.

Butland:

Let’s face it, he got damn lucky, and his early error may have ended up costing Rangers dearly. Otherwise he was average, with a couple of decent saves, albeit one he saw late. He’s not in form and it shows. 6

Tavernier:

Quiet from Tav, defensively untested frankly, but definitely more stable beside Souttar parked with Leon Balogun. Poor offensively, some wild crossing, but didn’t really do a lot wrong where it mattered. 6

Souttar:

Another good night from Souttar, recovering from his Killie error. Lots of blocks and clearances and very little got past him. 7

Balogun:

Rangers’ defence just looks better when he’s there, and he was big again as the rearguard remained resolute. Hopefully his (latest) injury isn’t too serious. 7

Jefte:

Another good one from this rising star, the Brazilian didn’t let too much get past him either and he stayed in position throughout. Tackled a LOT. 8

Barron:

Hungry display from a boy who was getting support this time – he cannot play beside Dio, but he can get help from Raskin. An assist summed up his excellent night. 9

Raskin:

An absolute boatload of running and dirty work from the Belgian, determined to take his chance, and he did so. He supported Barron and didn’t leave him to do it all. They worked great together. 8

Bajrami:

He’s a classy player but he didn’t have a big impact here. Tidy and methodical, he let things happen around him and this was maybe the first time he’s truly looked out of his natural 10 position. Was withdrawn early. 6

Lawrence:

Got a mite lucky with his goal and otherwise was subdued and did little. Have no idea what Ally McCoist thinks he saw from this boy. 6

Cerny:

Well this really was explosive. A stunning assist and two stunning goals, we feel like Cerny was proving a point here and he did and then some. Faultless performance. 10.

Dessers:

Having a bit of a lull right now and cut a frustrated figure. Went off in a huff. Just wasn’t in this one. 5

Subs (selected):

Igamane:

Quiet until his goal, but that moment showed mature poise and class. He took it well. 6

Diomande:

Yes, he got an assist, but otherwise did very little. Was brought on in the 10 position to replace Lawrence and did as little there as he has in central mid. 6

Manager:

Finally dropping Dio and resting Propper, Clement made some tweaks here and he got a much bigger response from his men. Adding Balogun in there definitely helped too, and one wonders why this manager has waited till now to make some changes that clearly worked? We’ve not changed our mind on him, this in fact only made things worse – this is what the team could be if this manager wasn’t so stubborn. Frustrating. 7
