Di Marzio: Sarri believes Milan squad is ‘tailor-made for his ideas’

Maurizio Sarri has been heavily linked to the AC Milan job in the past, and the cycle is beginning once again with Paulo Fonseca’s job heavily insecure.

There are two previous occasions where the 65-year-old has been close to getting into the head coach office at Milanello, and this summer, perhaps, was the third example of this. When Stefano Pioli was sacked, Sarri had just left Lazio, and it seemed a move was possible.

Nevertheless, Milan opted for Fonseca – a decision which they may already be regretting – and with rumours that the Portuguese head coach is close to losing his job, Sarri’s name is once again in the mix.

Gerry Cardinale may prefer to go for an Italian coach, and this idea is also liked by the fans according to reports. The biggest detail of all, though, is that Sarri believes the squad is ‘tailor-made’ to his ideas, according to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio. Previously it has been questioned if the manger would join mid-season, but with him liking the squad, this eliminates this issue.

Milan and Sarri have never formed a partnership, but with his belief in the squad as it is, if this is conveyed to the management, it could be a match made in heaven.
