It is no secret that FC Barcelona must start thinking about life after Robert Lewandowski. While the Polish veteran still brings undeniable quality, his age means the club will eventually need a long-term successor. One potential candidate, at least on paper, could come from Serie A.

According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Mundo Deportivo), Juventus are open to offloading Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic this summer.

The 25-year-old is entering the final year of his contract, and the Italian giants are keen to secure a transfer fee rather than risk losing him for free in 2026. His high salary has also become a sticking point, making him one of the most expensive players on the Italian club’s wage bill.

The tension between club and player has been evident. During Juventus’ match on Wednesday, sections of the crowd voiced their disapproval by booing Vlahovic, though head coach Igor Tudor defended the €35 million-rated Serbian ace and insisted he could fit well into his tactical plans. Despite this, the former Fiorentina striker remains adamant about seeing out the remainder of his deal.

FC Barcelona, as per the report, is one of the clubs monitoring the situation, alongside Premier League side Newcastle United. For Juventus, either could help resolve the impasse in the final days of the transfer window.

However, the likelihood of Vlahovic ending up at Camp Nou this summer appears slim. The Catalans are already wrestling with financial fair play restrictions and player registration hurdles.

Given Vlahovic’s substantial wages, fitting him into the squad would be a major challenge. Unless there is a dramatic late twist, Barcelona seem to have closed the door on further signings before the window shuts.
