Ethan Nwaneri has ended speculation over his future by signing a new long-term contract at Arsenal.
The 18-year-old’s previous deal was due to expire next summer but Nwaneri has now signed fresh terms. His new deal is understood to be a five-year contract and ends talk over a potential exit, with Premier League rivals having monitored his situation.
Nwaneri became the youngest player in English top-flight history when making his debut for Arsenal in 2022, and has since made 39 senior appearances. Last season was a breakthrough campaign for the teenager, who scored nine goals in all competitions.
During the summer, Nwaneri formed part of the England u-21 squad that won the European Championship.
On signing his new deal, Nwaneri told the club’s official website he was excited to continue developing in North London.
“Signing this contract means everything to me,” he said.
“I see this as my first real season in men’s senior football, as part of the squad in the changing room. I’m so excited for what I can bring to the team, I want to help us win as much as possible and bring happiness and glory to the club. This is where I feel at home.”
