The coaching staff at La Liga giants Real Madrid are planning a shake-up in the club’s backline for their upcoming meeting with Arsenal.
That’s according to Marca, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.
Real Madrid are of course currently in the midst of final preparations for a return to action, later this evening.
Turning attentions back towards matters on the continent, Los Blancos have made the trip to north London, for a Champions League quarter-final showdown with the aforementioned Arsenal.
And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then Carlo Ancelotti and co. are preparing some changes for the fixture.
As per a report from Marca, Federico Valverde will be moved back into midfield at The Emirates, meaning the heavily maligned Lucas Vázquez returns to right-back.
Not only that, but alterations are incoming on the opposite flank, too.
With Ferland Mendy sidelined, the widespread expectation was that Fran García would be the man chosen to take his place at left-back against Arsenal.
This, though, now looks altogether unlikely, with David Alaba the heavy favourite to step in on the left of Real’s defence.
