A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid will be unavailable for selection in the club’s next outing on the continent.
The player in question? Eduardo Camavinga.
Frenchman Camavinga was afforded his latest starting berth this evening, as Real Madrid made the trip to north London for a Champions League quarter-final first-leg meeting with Arsenal.
The 22-year-old was one of few Blancos players to stand up to the task before he and his teammates, shining particularly in the first-half.
As alluded to above, though, such efforts on Camavinga’s part came at a cost.
On the far side of the interval, the midfielder was shown a yellow card, for a mistimed challenge.
And owing to as much, Camavinga will not be available to feature in next week’s return leg with Arsenal in Spain’s capital.
The former Stade Rennais talent headed into this evening’s action one booking away from a one-game suspension, a threshold which he has now hit.
