According to a recent report from Fichajes, Manchester City have made it a top priority to extend Rodri’s contract and secure his long-term future at the Etihad.
The Spanish midfielder has emerged as one of the most valuable players in Pep Guardiola’s system, and with Real Madrid showing interest, City are acting quickly to lock him down.
The Premier League champions are reportedly preparing a long-term contract extension that would keep Rodri at the club until 2030.
Financially, the offer is substantial, as City are ready to double his current salary, which sits at around €11 million per year.
If agreed, this new deal would make Rodri the second-highest-paid player in the squad, trailing only Erling Haaland.
Despite Rodri’s importance to Manchester City, his name remains firmly on Real Madrid’s radar.

The Spanish giants see him as an ideal player who can act as the anchor between the defence and the attack.
However, Madrid understand that the move would be incredibly difficult to pull off. Rodri still has time left on his current contract, and City are doing everything they can to make sure the player feels valued.
Beyond the money, City are focused on making Rodri feel like a cornerstone of their sporting project for the years to come.
The message from the English club is clear that they are not willing to let go of one of their most influential players without a fight.
By offering both financial security and a central role in their future plans, Manchester City are aiming to shut the door on any potential approach from Madrid.
As things stand, the battle seems to be swinging in City’s favour. While Real Madrid may still keep an eye on Rodri, the likelihood of a move appears to be fading fast.
