There has been a mass exodus from Real Madrid Castilla in recent days, and now, young defender Lorenzo Aguado appears to be joining his teammates on their way out.

The youngster, despite being a primary pillar for the Castilla team, has been linked with a departure from the club in recent days and second-division club Albacete have emerged as a serious suitor.

At this point, even though unconfirmed officially, the young right-back appears set to join Albacete. And the player confirmed his departure from the Santiago Bernabeu earlier today.

Aguado’s farewell

Taking to his Instagram and bidding Real Madrid farewell before his move is official, the 22-year-old right-back penned out his gratitude to the club and how he has grown in the Spanish capital and refined his game.

“It’s not easy to put into words what it feels like to close out such an intense and special period as the one I’ve experienced during these 15 years at Real Madrid. Not even I imagined how far this journey would take me,” he began.

“I’m the youth player who has been at the club the longest, even making my first-team debut. I can say I’ve fulfilled a dream,” he added.

Confirming that he will be leaving the club in the coming days, Aguado described the honour it gave him to defend the Real Madrid crest all these years.

“Today I say goodbye with my head held high and my heart full. It’s been an honour to wear this shirt and defend these colours.”

“But what I’ll truly take with me are the people: teammates who stopped being just that to become part of my family, coaches who have guided and taught me, and all the club staff who, from behind the scenes, work every day so we can give our best,” he added on all the staff and players he has worked with.

The youth star then went on to detail what he has learnt at the club over the years and how it has helped him grow into a complete and prepared footballer in every sense.

“Real Madrid has taught me to be strong in the face of adversity, to get back up when things aren’t going my way, and to believe in myself even in the most difficult moments.”

“I’m taking with me unforgettable memories, lessons that will shape my career, and the certainty that the Real Madrid spirit lives on in me forever,” he added.

He even penned down a note on the several memories he has made and enjoyed at the club over the years.

“I’m taking with me much more than memories: I’m taking with me a way of understanding football and life.”

“Here, they taught me that at Real Madrid, you can’t give up, that you have to give your all, always, without excuses. And I’ve always kept that ingrained in me,” he added.

Finally, he left a cryptic message that suggested that he had not decided on his next destination but that he would leave the club for certain.

“I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that this club and this shirt will always be a part of me. Thanks to everyone who has been part of this journey. See you in life. Hala Madrid!
