RC Lens have entered negotiations with Stade de Reims to sign goalkeeper Yehvann Diouf (25), according to a report from L’Équipe. The Senegal international is under contract until June 2027, but following Reims’ relegation to Ligue 2 is expected to leave this summer along with Valentin Atangana (19) and Keito Nakamura (24).
Lens are in the market for a new starting goalkeeper after a flurry of departures in the position. Mathew Ryan has returned to AS Roma following the end of his loan spell, Denis Petric is out of contract, and Hervé Koffi appears set to join Angers SCO.
Diouf’s standout performance against Lens in April – a 14-save display in a 2-0 win at the Stade Bollaert – is thought to have left a lasting impression on the Artois side. Talks are now underway with Reims, and the player is reportedly enthusiastic about the proposed move to Pas-de-Calais.
Reims are expected to demand a fee for the 24-year-old, who was one of the standout goalkeepers in Ligue 1 last season despite the club’s collective struggles.GFFN | George Boxall
