Liverpool have beaten out stiff competition to secure the signature of one of the summer's most sought-after strikers in Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike.
The Frenchman had also been pursued by both Manchester United and Newcastle, who did have a bid rejected by the Bundesliga side for his services.
It is the Premier League champions who have ultimately came out on top, paying a fee of £79m to get their man, with £69m being guaranteed in addition to a potential further £10m in bonuses.
Ekitike has signed a six-year contract at Anfield.
It marks a considerable profit for Frankfurt (who continue their impressive track record of developing strikers), who signed the 23-year-old from PSG for €16.5m last summer after he initially impressed over a six-month loan spell.
Yet to be capped by France, Ekitike scored 22 goals in all competitions for the Eagles last season.
