Barcelona’s long-awaited return to Spotify Camp Nou is still surrounded by uncertainty, but optimism is growing.

According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, the club believes it could reopen the iconic stadium within two weeks, just in time for the La Liga clash against Valencia on 14th September.

The possibility of hosting fans again at Camp Nou depends on securing the Certificate of Completion of Works (CFO), a document required to confirm that the renovation process meets all the necessary safety and structural standards.

Without this certificate, Barcelona cannot take the next step of applying for the first occupancy license from the City Council.

Pending approvals and first phase of reopening

In addition to the CFO, Barcelona must also present reports on the prevention of light and noise pollution.

To address these requirements, the club has already carried out sound and lighting tests in recent days. Officials are confident that the results will satisfy the necessary conditions.

The municipal council is currently under tight schedules, but according to Barcelona, the authorities have shown understanding of the special circumstances regarding the stadium’s reopening.

This cooperation has given the club hope that everything will be finalised in time.

If approved, the reopening will follow phase 1A of the planned project, which includes enabling the Grandstand and South Goal stands.

This stage will allow around 27,000 spectators to return to the stadium, marking a symbolic but significant step in Camp Nou’s gradual comeback.

Barça awaiting final green light

Until the CFO is granted, Barcelona cannot accelerate the bureaucratic process needed for the occupancy license.

Despite this, the club remains optimistic about welcoming fans back against Valencia.

For supporters, the reopening of Camp Nou will be more than just a return to a stadium – it will symbolise the revival of the club’s spiritual home after months of absence.

While the wait continues, Barça’s confidence suggests that the night of 14th September could mark a historic return.
