Despite the recent concerns, FC Barcelona seem to be nearing the return to their beloved Camp Nou. After almost two years, renovation works at the stadium seem to have reached a point that will allow the Blaugrana team to play there once again.
The President Joan Laporta recently visited the stadium, and showcased his ecstasy on the readiness of the stadium for competitive matches by lying face up in the center circle, with his arms outstretched.
For now, it might take around two more years to completely finish the renovation works. However, according to SPORT, there is complete confidence at the club that the match against Valencia on September 14th will be played at Camp Nou, even though there are some steps left for Barcelona to ensure this.
One of these pending steps is to obtain the Final Certificate of Works, after which they will be able to put tickets for this match on sale. For now, the Catalans have already submitted a certificate of works with a 100% validated phase A1, and are expecting to get the final green light to host a football match at Camp Nou by next Friday. The formal validation from the City Council is also expected by September 8th.
For now, Barcelona are fully confident that they will be able to get these next steps completed in time to host the Valencia game. But even in a worst-case scenario, they will be able to hold the game against Getafe on September 21 at the Camp Nou. Thus, a return home seems imminent for the Blaugrana club.
