Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti names his pick to win 2024 Ballon d’Or | OneFootball

Later this year, the 2024 Ballon d’Or will be handed out by France Football. It’s expected that a new face will be the winner, with the dominant era of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo now at its end.

Real Madrid have a very good chance of having the winner on their books. Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham are considered to be the favourites, with Toni Kroos and Dani Carvajal also serious candidates.

Carlo Ancelotti managed all four players last season, and he selected his winner during his interview with The Obi One Podcast (via Relevo).

“In my opinion, Vinicius should win it. He did very well last season. Dani Carvajal also did very well – he won La Liga, Champions League, scored in the final and won the European Championship. But Vinicius is young, talented, and he can improve. He won the league, he won the Champions League by scoring in the final, semi-finals, he scored 2 goals in Munich. Jude also had a fantastic season and was the best player in the league.”

Not many would begrudge Vinicius winning the award. He’s been one of the best players in the world for the last few seasons, and Real Madrid will hope that he wins many Ballon d’Ors during his time at the club.
