Paris Saint-Germain remains on course for an unprecedented treble after defeating Barcelona on Tuesday evening. The club is in the final of the Coupe de France, frontrunners for the league, and into the semi-final of the Champions League.

According to Le Parisien, PSG’s success against Barcelona in particular will prove to be financially important for the club with the team guaranteed to reach an income of nearly €120 million just from their Champions League pursuits.

The club earned €93 million when they exited the group stages, and progression in each subsequent stage has seen them earn €23.1 million. This figure could approach €140 million if the club can surpass Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals of this year’s competition.

Fuel for PSG’s post-Mbappé plans?

This could prove to be a highly important year to generate this income with the departure of Kylian Mbappé (25) in the summer necessitating at least a partial restrengthening from the club, with the team heavily linked to several summer targets, not least Victor Osimhen (25).
