Paris Saint-Germain’s focus may be firmly on returning to the final of the UEFA Champions League for the first time since 2020, however, the club are also already looking towards the future.

This season was billed as one of transition at PSG. Ultimately, it could amount to much more than that. Heading into May, a historic quadruple is still on the cards. Having already won the Trophée des Champions, the Ligue 1 title was wrapped up at the weekend and Les Parisiens are still alive in the latter stages of the Champions League and the Coupe de France.

In his debut season at the Parc des Princes, Luis Enrique has impressed, to the extent that a contract extension is even on the cards, according to L’Équipe. PSG’s hierarchy are impressed by the former Barcelona manager’s long-term outlook and as a result, they are already considering extending Luis Enrique’s contract, beyond its current end date in June 2025.

Luis Enrique has publically repeated that he is happy with Les Parisiens, stating that he would only leave the club if he was sacked. The departure of Kylian Mbappé, which may allow PSG more tactical freedom next year, provides another reason for Luis Enrique to stay and continue to build his project.

L’Équipe understands that talks are not formally underway regarding a renewal, whilst the manager himself, fully focused on the end of the season, does not want to make a decision on his long-term future at this time.
