Kieffer Moore's goals played a big part in helping the Tractor Boys win promotion to the Premier League last season.

Sheffield United and Cardiff City are among a host of Championship clubs interested in signing towering Bournemouth striker Kieffer Moore.

That is according to a report from Darren Witcoop via X, who claims that there is plenty of interest in the 43-cap Wales international once more from second tier outfits.

Moore has returned to the Vitality Stadium following his successful loan spell with Ipswich Town, which saw the 31-year-old play a crucial role in helping the Tractor Boys over the line and into the Premier League.

The target man reminded the Championship of the sort of impact he can make in the second tier with seven goals in 18 league appearances, proving that he's still a highly productive centre-forward in the right system.

Now, Moore appears set to be on the move once again this summer, and with his performances fresh in the memory of Championship clubs up and down the land, the Cherries striker doesn't appear to be short of potential suitors.

According to journalist Darren Witcoop, the Bournemouth forward will leave the Premier League side this summer, and is in the process of weighing up his options ahead of his next move.

Witcoop reveals that Sheffield United and former club Cardiff City are two of the Championship clubs that are queuing up to sign Moore, with a host of fellow unnamed second tier sides also taking an interest.

The Welshman signed for Bournemouth in January 2022 from the Bluebirds, in a deal worth a reported £5 million.

Since then, the tall striker has made 46 appearances in all competitions for the Cherries, scoring 10 times across both Championship and Premier League level.

But with just 12 months remaining on his contract with Bournemouth, the top-flight side look set to cash in on him now rather than lose him for nothing next year.

Moore has been an Erol Bulut target for the Bluebirds since last season, but in January they lost out to Ipswich Town, with the Turkish coach claiming he was desperate to land the forward.

Cardiff City could have advantage on Sheffield United in Kieffer Moore battle

Scoring goals was a big problem for both Cardiff City and Sheffield United respectively in 2023/24, with Karlan Grant and Perry Ng's six league goals being enough to crown them joint top scorers for the Bluebirds.

At Bramall Lane meanwhile, Villarreal loanee Ben Brereton Diaz's six Premier League strikes were also enough to earn him the top scorer honours for the Blades last season.

Therefore, it's clear that the striking department was an area of the pitch that both sides would be looking to strengthen in this summer, and the arrival of Moore would be a major step forward for either club.

But a move back to his homeland with Cardiff City could well be the more likely outcome at this stage, as City could look to capitalise on Sheffield United being handcuffed in the transfer market until their proposed takeover is completed.

Blades boss Chris Wilder has his hands effectively tied when it comes to player recruitment until that takeover goes through, and as such, Cardiff should see this as a perfect opportunity to get a headstart on them in negotiations with Bournemouth.

If the Bluebirds move quickly, they could secure his signature before Sheffield United even have the chance to properly sit down at the negotiation table, in what would be a signing that would surely be welcomed by the majority of Cardiff City supporters.
