Kieffer Moore is reportedly of interest to The Tigers

Hull City are closing in on securing a deal which would bring the experienced Kieffer Moore to the MKM Stadium.

That's according to a report from Hull Live, who state that the frontman has been on the Tigers' radar for a number of weeks following the appointment of Tim Walter in East Yorkshire.

Moore was an integral part of Ipswich Town's eventual promotion to the Premier League during the second half of last season, and prior to his return to Portman Road, wasn't short of interest from potential Championship suitors.

That has continued following his return to Bournemouth in the off-season, as the Wales international isn't seen as part of Andoni Iraola's plans moving forward, which has seen him linked with other sides in the second tier this summer, predominantly Sheffield United, as well as a potential move to Hull.

It was first reported by BBC Radio Humberside's Mike White that City were in talks with the South Coast outfit in terms of striking an agreement which would see the experienced striker make a permanent switch to East Yorkshire, ending his two-and-a-half year association with the Cherries.

There was previous talk that City were hopeful of acquiring a new striker ahead of embarking on their pre-season training camp in owner, Acun Ilicali's home country, and whilst that didn't quite happen, the two clubs have finally struck a deal.

This latest update from Hull Live states that Moore has been a target for Walter for a number of weeks after the transfer window opened four weeks ago, with the striker reportedly set to sign a three-year contract with the Tigers as they look to fend off previous interest from the likes of the Blades and Cardiff City.

The sides from the Steel City and South Wales were first credited with interest in acquiring the 43-time Wales international earlier in the month according to Darren Witcoop of the Daily Mirror.

However, it has been known for some time that Chris Wilder's rebuilding task at Bramall Lane has been made all the more difficult as takeover talks remain in limbo, which has led to the departure of several experienced players, as well as the future of Oli McBurnie being left up in the air.

Furthermore, Sunderland were another side always linked with a move for his services before his second spell at Portman Road, although it remains to be seen whether new head coach, Regis Le Bris, had the tall striker on his own radar.

Therefore, this has seen City swoop from under the noses of their divisional rivals and take advantage of the situation as Moore looks set to become the second signing of a new era in HU3 after Ryan Giles' permanent move was previously ratified.

Not only is Moore a seasoned goalscorer at this level, but he's also a two-time promotion winner with Bournemouth and Ipswich, netting seven times in 18 appearances for Kieran McKenna's side last term as they pipped Leeds United to the second automatic promotion spot.

The striking department needed some mass surgery this summer in East Yorkshire following the departures of Liam Delap, Aaron Connolly, Billy Sharp and Noah Ohio.

However, this has soon been rectified as Colombian forward Oscar Estupinan has been recalled from Brazilian outfit Bahia - five months prior to the official conclusion of his temporary contract with the side - as well as the supposedly imminent signing of Moore.
