CARSON, Calif. – The final qualification spot in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup will be decided when the Los Angeles Galaxy host the New York Red Bulls in the MLS Cup championship match on Saturday at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.
Champions of the 2000 Concacaf Champions Cup, LA Galaxy has already secured a place in next year’s tournament as one of the top sides in the MLS Supporters’ Shield standings. Instead of starting in Round One, the California club can earn a bye to the Round of 16 if it claims the MLS Cup for a sixth occasion.
NY Red Bulls is seeking to win its first MLS Cup, which would qualify the club for its sixth Concacaf Champions Cup and earn a bye to the Round of 16. RBNY last appeared in the 2019 edition and achieved its best finish in 2018 by reaching the semifinals.
If the Red Bulls do not lift the cup, Seattle Sounders FC will claim the final spot in the 2025 CCC as the next-best club in the MLS Supporters’ Shield standings. The Sounders won the 2022 edition and will be one of five Concacaf representatives in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The 27th and last available spot in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup will be decided when MLS crowns its new champion on Saturday. Real Hope FA of Haiti became the latest club to qualify by winning the 2024 Concacaf Caribbean Cup Third Place on Tuesday.
