Hector Fort is celebrating his 19th birthday today, while on FC Barcelona’s Asian pre-season tour. However, the youngster is fully aware that these could be his final days wearing the club’s shirt.

After two seasons involved with the first team, Fort’s future likely lies elsewhere. After all, head coach Hansi Flick considers Jules Kounde and Eric Garcia his primary options at right-back, and has informed the teenager that opportunities for playing time will be scarce.

Barcelona’s conditions to sell Fort

As has been reported, Barcelona are open to parting ways with Fort this summer. Now, SPORT has come forward with more details about the La Masia talent’s possible departure.

As per the report, Barcelona are seeking a permanent transfer for the teenage right-back, while retaining a significant percentage of his rights and including an affordable buy-back clause in case he fulfils his potential at his new club.

The Blaugrana would consider Fort’s departure on a permanent transfer, subject to those conditions being met.

Several clubs keen

There is no shortage of interest in acquiring Fort’s services this summer. Several clubs see his projection and quality as a valuable long-term investment.

Barcelona’s local rivals, Girona, have inquired about the young defender’s situation and are interested in making a move.

RCD Mallorca are another club following him closely, viewing Fort as a potential replacement for Pablo Maffeo, who is expected to leave this summer.

Meanwhile, reports from France confirm that newly promoted Ligue 1 side Paris FC, now under Red Bull ownership, are also pursuing the Barcelona prodigy.

Last season, Fort played a minor role under Flick, with Garcia overtaking him as Kounde’s main back-up on the right side of defence.

Fort did not feature in the first friendly against Vissel Kobe, but he played the entire second half against FC Seoul. He performed well and showed that, despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, he remains focused and professional.

For now, no deal is close, but Fort and his camp are waiting to resolve the situation after he returns from the Asian tour.
