FC Barcelona continue to dominate their games in the ongoing preseason tour in Asia. Following their win over Vissel Kobe in Japan, the Catalan side is now in South Korea. Over there, Barcelona ensured yet another victory over FC Seoul.

A dominant 7-3 victory, it saw many players get an opportunity to shine. Unfortunately, despite Hansi Flick’s desire to give most players a chance to show off their talents, there was one veteran who did not play a single minute in the game.

That man was none other than Inigo Martinez, with the 34-year-old defender having played no part in the clash. However, as per a recent report, it is clear that this is nothing serious to worry about or make conspiracies over.

As per SPORT, the reason for the player’s absence was simply fatigue. Hansi Flick wanted to protect the veteran and his health, so he considered it to be the right move to let him rest for one game and fully refresh himself.

No kind of overload or injury is at play here, and it seems to have been a good decision from the German coach. In his stead, Gerard Martin operated as the left-sided centre-back alongside Andreas Christensen during the second half.

Moreover, Martinez is expected to be back in action for Barcelona in the upcoming game against Daegu FC. A man full of experience and competitiveness, there is no way that Flick could ever keep Martinez from playing for too long.
