A-Ittihad confirm Karim Benzema’s return to Real Madrid as part of ongoing treatment plan | OneFootball

Last summer, Karim Benzema surprised many with his decision to leave Real Madrid. That feeling grew further when he joined the mass amount of players heading to Saudi Arabia, where he joined Al-Ittihad.

It’s not been an easy season for the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner, as injuries have prevented him from reaching his full potential (similarly to his final season at Los Blancos). On regular occasions throughout the campaign, Benzema has returned to Madrid, and Al-Ittihad have confirmed that he has done so again.

In an official statement, they have confirmed that Benzema is undergoing a treatment plan at Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training complex. Medical professionals from the two clubs have been in regular dialogue, as they aim to help the Frenchman recover as best as possible.

It’s noted that Benzema will remain with Real Madrid until next week, at which point he will head back to Saudi Arabia to link up with his Al-Ittihad teammates, as they prepare for the final five matches of their season.
