After their 1-1 draw with Oostende last weekend, Zulte Waregem face another relegation rival in RFC Seraing on Saturday. The side from Liege are bottom of the league and appear to be resigned to their fate. During the winter transfer window they made just one signing. Zulte Waregem on the other hand were busy, bringing in a number of players as they looked to avoid the drop.
However, after throwing away a winning position against Oostende, the side are now four points from safety. Beating Seraing could put pressure on Kortrijk, who face a rejuvenated Anderlecht side under head coach Brian Riemer on Sunday. Yet an injury to Ruud Vormer, a key signing this January, means that Zulte Waregem will be looking to others.
One of those will be striker Zinho Gano. The 29-year-old Guinea-Bissau striker was not considered part of the squad to start the season after a fall out with head coach Mbaye Leye. They have since made up, and for Leye this has been a major boost. The striker has scored seven goals in 12 games so far this season and looks back to his best. His goal against Oostende was coolly taken and he probably should have had more, such were the chances he had.
Against Seraing Gano will certainly have plenty of chances. They have only kept one clean sheet all season, with 48 goals shipped in that time. Zulte Waregem are worse overall, with 53 against. However, Seraing have the worst attack in the league with just 23 scored. Zulte Waregem will certainly be looking to Gano to put his chances away and get an all important three points for his side.
