Not a terrible performance and indeed, Newcastle with chances of their own, especially early on, with Alexander Isak a handful for the hosts.

However, two poor pieces of defending (Hall and/or Joelinton for the first, definitely Murphy for the second) allowing Yokohama to score in each half.

To be fair, from their perspective, the first goal was an excellent team move.

Some excellent support from the home (Japan) based and travelling Newcastle United fans watching on in hot and humid conditions.

Back to Tyneside now for players and Newcastle based fans, with two weeks to go until the proper stuff kicks off, just the two St James’ Park friendlies next weekend before that Southampton Premier League match.
