Scorers: Kelly 87′

The home side were straight on the front foot and should have taken a lead inside 15 minutes only for Reading goalkeeper Grace Moloney to make a fine save from Rose Lavelle.

The Royals had their own chance to score midway through the half but Ellie Roebuck in the City goals was in fine form and tipped an effort around the post.

City upped the pressure in the second half but couldn’t find a way past the excellent Moloney who was keeping everything at bay.

With three minutes remaining though, they got their winner.

Lauren Hemp weaved her way through the Reading defence and laid the ball square for Chloe Kelly to finish.

Tottenham 0-3 Arsenal

Scorers: Foord 26′, Miedema 35′, McCabe 61′

Arsenal claimed their fourth win in a row as they comfortably beat north London rivals Tottenham 3-0.

As has been her wont for the best part of two years, Vivianne Miedema was taking the game by the scruff of the neck here and should have scored at least twice in the opening 20 minutes.

But it was Caitlin Foord who opened the scoring for the Gunners on 26 minutes, combining well with Noëlle Martiz and finishing first time inside the area.

Arsenal were head and shoulders above Spurs here and soon doubled their advantage thanks to an astonishing volley from Miedema.

Into the second half and the visitors got their third of the afternoon on 61 minutes as Katie McCabe pounced on a defensive error and slide an effort into the bottom right-hand corner.

Manchester United 2-0 West Ham

Scorers: James 50′, Press 55′

A superb second half performance saw Manchester United beat West Ham 2-0 in their first ever game at Old Trafford.

They may have been fighting against relegation but West Ham put in an excellent showing in the first half.

The east London outfit frustrated their Champions League-aspiring hosts and reduced them to just a few chances in the opening 45 minutes.

After the break though, it didn’t take United long to make the breakthrough as Lauren James headed in from close range and then Christen Press added a second.

It kept United in third place and well in the hunt for a European place come the end of the campaign.
