Real Sociedad loanee André Silva has on Wednesday confirmed his long-expected departure from the club.
Frontman Silva, for his part, made the move to Anoeta last summer, as part of a season-long loan deal from parent club RB Leipzig.
The Portuguese’s ensuing stint on the books of La Real, however, proved to be largely underwhelming.
All told, Silva managed 25 appearances across all competitions.
Just 13, though, came in the form of starts, across which the former AC Milan talent found the net on a disappointing four occasions.
The widespread assumption, in turn, had long been that Real Sociedad would opt against activating their purchase option on Silva.
And on Wednesday, precisely as much has been confirmed, by none other than the attacker himself.
In a post across his social media platforms, Silva sent a heartfelt message to all associated with Real Sociedad, in the process announcing his departure from the club:
‘Real Sociedad: I want to express my gratitude! Despite all the adversities, I always did the best I could to achieve our goals! It was an honor to be part of this family and enjoy an unforgettable year! Thank you very much for everything. What an incredible club! See you soon.’
