He is a wanted man in the Bundesliga and Borussia Dortmund and Leipzig have been battling for his signature.

It appeared that Dortmund were in pole position to scoop Silva up and they were to meet with his agents and Wolves last week to discuss a move.

Now, following the sale of Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United, it is Leipzig who are picking up the pace.

Silva now has a ‘verbal agreement’ with Leipzig over moving to the club, according to German journalist Patrick Berger.

Leipzig are ‘now negotiating with Wolves’ as they seek to strike a deal to take the attacker to Germany.

Dortmund are still keen on the Wolves man and have offered him a five-year contract to make the move to the Ruhr.

For Wolves, offloading Silva will provide a boost as he has failed to live up to expectations since arriving at Molineux.

Still just 23 years old, Silva has had a host of loan spells away from Wolves and spent last term on loan at Las Palmas in La Liga.

He found the back of the net ten times in La Liga for Las Palmas, making an impact and attracting interest this summer.

It is unclear how much Wolves might bank from selling Silva, who is into the final year of his contract at Molineux.
