Wesley Hoedt will leave Southampton for Anderlecht after the clubs agreed a deal for the Dutch centre-back.
Hoedt arrived at St Mary’s from Lazio in 2017, but the £15m signing has spent the past two-and-a-half seasons out on loan.
A statement released by the Saints read: “Southampton Football Club has come to an agreement in principle with Belgian Pro League side RSC Anderlecht for the transfer of defender Wesley Hoedt, ahead of the deal being formally completed on June 21st.
“The 27-year-old joined Saints back in 2017, making 45 appearances, before spending the past two seasons on loan at Royal Antwerp and Lazio respectively.
“The club would like to thank Wesley for his service and wish him all the best for the future.”
Speaking to the Anderlecht website, Hoedt admitted he has been in contact with the Belgian side for over a year.
“For me, the choice for RSC Anderlecht is primarily a sporting choice. I want to help make this project a success, to go for the highest again.”
Anderlecht, who are managed by former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, finished third in the regular season of the Juliper League.
