Chelsea have reached the Champions League final after claiming a 2-0 win over Real Madrid.

Timo Werner and Mason Mount scored on either side of half-time to give Chelsea a deserved victory on the night and 3-1 on aggregate.

The Blues had Edouard Mendy to thank for their clean sheet as the Senegalese goalkeeper denied Karim Benzema on two occasions in the first-half.

It was Werner who eventually broke the deadlock after 28 minutes when he headed in from almost on the goal-line after Kai Havertz had lofted a finish on to the bar.

What followed was a second-half filled with anxiety for Chelsea as they dominated the visitors but missed chance after chance in their search for a decisive second goal.

But eventually Mount sealed the victory after some excellent work from N'Golo Kante and Christian Pulisic.

The result means Chelsea are into their first Champions League final since they won the competition in 2012.

They will face Manchester City in the final in Istanbul on May 29.

The match is an opportunity of redemption for Thomas Tuchel as the German lost last year's final whilst in charge of PSG.

Ironically, the two English clubs will get a closer look at each other when they face off in the Premier League on Saturday.
