It has been another seismic week in the world of European football as we hurtle towards the season’s conclusion.

And now it’s time to update our rankings of the continent’s top 10 most in-form sides.

10. Feyenoord (🆕)

PSV are still nine points clear at the top of the Eredivisie, but the first piece of Dutch silverware of the season was claimed by Feyenoord at the weekend, when they held on with 10 men to defeat NEC 1-0 and lift the KNVB Cup.

Reports this week suggest their coach Arne Slot will be taking his brand of high intensity attacking football to Liverpool next season, which should be interesting to say the least.

9. Galatasaray (🆕)

The race for this season’s Turkish Süper Lig title is quietly one of the most fascinating in Europe, with just four points separating the top two, who have both lost just one game each all season.

But it is Galatasaray who lead the way over Fenerbahçe, having strung together 14 consecutive league wins since they last dropped points back on 11 January.

The two Istanbul rivals are set to meet in the penultimate game of the season, which could be fierier than ever if the title race is still this close.

8. Sporting CP (No change)

The race for the Portuguese title had been a close run affair for much of the season, but Sporting’s win over Lisbon rivals Benfica at the start of the month has seen the Leões pull away at the top.

Rúben Amorim’s side’s 3-0 win over Vitória on Sunday was their eighth on the spin in the league, and leaves them seven points clear the top, with a trip to face third-placed Porto coming their way this weekend.

7. Atalanta (👍 Last week: 10)

After holding firm against Liverpool and sealing their spot in the Europa League semi-finals, Atalanta won away at Monza on Sunday to lift themselves to sixth in the Serie A table.

But the highlight of their week was Tuesday’s 4-1 victory over Fiorentina, which saw Gian Piero Gasperini’s men book a date with Juventus in the Coppa Italia final.

6. PSG (👍 Last week: 10)

Despite the Kylian Mbappé saga dominating the headlines, Luis Enrique’s first season in charge of PSG has gone pretty darn well.

Les Parisiens are into the Champions League semi-finals, through to the Coupe de France final, and Wednesday’s 4-1 win over Lorient means they can clinch the Ligue 1 title when they play Le Havre this weekend.

You can’t say fairer than being in the hunt for a treble at this stage of the season.

5. Manchester City (👎 Last week: 3)

After their 120 minute sparring session with Real Madrid last week, a very leggy Manchester City put in one of their poorest performances of the season against Chelsea in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final.

But an 84th-minute winner from Bernardo Silva saw Pep Guardiola’s side book their spot in the final (where they will again face Manchester United) for the second successive year, and they will be hoping to chase down a fourth consecutive Premier League title, beginning with Thursday night’s trip to Brighton.

4. Arsenal (👍 Last week: 5)

Liverpool’s defeat in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday means the Premier League title tussle is suddenly looking more like a two-horse race, and it’s Arsenal who look set to gallop alongside Manchester City towards the finishing line.

Convincing wins over Wolves and Chelsea in their last two have seen the Gunners open up a four-point lead over City, but the reigning champions’ two games in hand mean the table doesn’t currently offer a clear reflection of the state of play.

Mikel Arteta’s side will probably have to win all four of their remaining games and hope for the best, beginning with Sunday’s mouth-watering north London derby.

3. Bayer Leverkusen (👎 Last week: 1)

With the Bundesliga title lifted and their place in the Europa League semi-final secured, you could forgive Leverkusen for taking their foot off the gas slightly at the weekend.

But a 97th-minute equaliser from Josip Stanišić saw Die Werkself snatch a 1-1 draw at Borussia Dortmund, keeping their incredible unbeaten run going this season.

Xabi Alonso’s men have in fact set a new record for unbeaten games in all competitions across Europe’s top five leagues with their 45 now this season. Amazing stuff.

2. Inter (👍 Last week: 4)

Italy crowned its champions this week, with Inter officially clinching the Scudetto for the 20th time in the club’s illustrious history.

And the Nerazzurri added that second star to their crest in the most wonderful way imaginable, beating rivals Milan in a fiery derby on Monday night to overtake the Rossoneri when it comes to titles won.

The celebrations raged on long into the night, and rightly so.

1. Real Madrid (👍 Last week: 2)

Real Madrid aren’t quite champions of Spain yet, but they’re damn close after Jude Bellingham’s late winner gave them victory in an enthralling Clásico with Barcelona on Sunday night.

Los Blancos were helped by the lack of goal-line technology of course, but their 11-point lead over Barça means Carlo Ancelotti’s side need a maximum of three more wins and a 36th LaLiga title will be theirs.
