Of course, with the January transfer window well underway now, past its halfway point, in fact, there are plenty of Watford talking points other than things on the pitch.

Transfer rumours across the EFL are rife, and Vicarage Road is no exception.

With that said, below, we've rounded up some of the latest transfer stories surrounding The Hornets.

From potential player exits, to failed transfers, to rumoured arrivals, here is the very latest Watford FC transfer news.

Rhys Healey linked with Huddersfield Town

In some of the very latest Watford transfer news, striker Rhys Healey has been linked with a move away.

Indeed, according to The Athletic, Huddersfield Town are in talks with the Hornets over a deal to sign the 29-year-old.

The report claims the clubs are in discussions over a deal worth in the region of £2 million.

Healey has featured just 11 times in the Championship this season, starting only one match, and scoring two goals.

The forward is contracted at Vicarage Road until 2025, with the potential for a further year.

If he departs, Watford will look to sign a replacement forward, reports claim.

Reports in Italy claimed earlier this week that a move for the 19-year-old defender to the Hornets was close. However, these claims were soon shot down.

As per The Athletic, despite them initially reporting Watford's interest, the Hornets will now not sign the Croatian under-21 international due to the fact he is ineligible to play for a third team this season.

Tikvic featured for Bayern II back in August before moving to Udinese.

Watford will now consider other targets, according to the report.

Last but not least, the final Watford transfer news up for discussion in this article revolves around the right-back position.

The Hornets have a firm first-choice in the position in Ryan Andrews, with the academy graduate impressing greatly this season. However, his backup is questionable.

Jeremy Ngakia has been injured for quite some time, and Tom Dele-Bashiru, deployed at right-back recently, is a natural central midfielder.

As such, Foot Mercato claims Watford are keen on Lille defender Akim Zedadka.
