Zakaria El Ouahdi
Moroccan talent Zakaria El Ouahdi has caught the eye of several top French clubs this summer.
Following the arrivals of CJ Egan-Riley, Facundo Medina, and Angel Gomes, Olympique de Marseille’s fourth summer signing could well bolster the right flank. Indeed, OM are actively pursuing the Zakaria El Ouahdi file.
According to reports relayed by Foot en France, Olympique de Marseille are closely monitoring the development of Genk’s right-back. The Moroccan international has taken his game to new heights this season, impressing with his attacking mindset and high work rate. The former Molenbeek player wrapped up the campaign with 8 goals and 2 assists across all competitions, numbers that have not gone unnoticed by the Marseille camp alone.
However, OM will need to act quickly, as Team Football highlights Stade Rennais’ strong interest. Looking to fill the void left by Lorenz Assignon’s move to Stuttgart, Red and Black head coach Habib Beye has made Zakaria El Ouahdi his top target.
Genk, who extended their right-back’s contract until 2028 last September, are reportedly demanding between €10 and €12 million for his transfer. Additionally, the player—also on the radar of AC Milan, Benfica, and Wolfsburg—wants to leave on good terms, without putting pressure on his club’s management.
