The former agent of new Inter Milan signing Ange-Yoan Bonny says that current Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca called the player a “phenomenon” at Parma.
Agent Yvan Le Mee revealed the backstory of the young Frenchman’s move to Parma to FootMercato. He recalled that no clubs in Ligue 1 were willing to take a chance on the player.
Inter Milan have completed the signing of Ange-Yoan Bonny from Parma.
The Nerazzurri have made the 21-year-old their third signing of the summer, after Petar Sucic and Luis Henrique.
In signing Bonny, Inter have reunited the France Under-21 international with Cristian Chivu. The Romanian had worked with him for a few months at Parma.
Meanwhile, Bonny’s arrival is yet another sign of the change in transfer policy at Inter under Oaktree Capital.

Agent Yvan Le Mee looked back on Bonny’s early development. “We offered him to all the French clubs,” he said.
“Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs. But no one had the courage to take a chance on him, and no one wanted to pay for his training fees.”
Le Mee said Bonny was “another player who had to go abroad even though he wanted to stay in France.”
“From that moment, we had to find the right club that would see him explode.”
“A club with the right size for him to progress,” Le Mee explained.
“It was Parma. A club with a big history in Italy.”
“At the time, Parma were developing the youngest team in Europe,” the agent noted. “They had one of the five youngest teams in Europe, and they were in Serie B.”
Le Mee stated that “Italy is the ideal destination for young players, as we’ve seen many occasions.”
“So I advised him to go there. He would have a better chance of getting playing time that would help him develop.”
Agent Le Mee noted that “When I offered him to Parma, I contacted Javier Ribalta, their Sporting Director at the time.”
“[Then-Parma coach Enzo] Maresca came out of the first training session,” remembered the agent. “And he said that if Bonny keeps training at that level, they’ve found a phenomenon!”
