Real Madrid TV has once again gone on the offensive against refereeing in La Liga, continuing its strong criticism despite the recent renewal within the CTA.

The club’s official channel dedicated almost half an hour in its midday news programme on Monday to reviewing incidents from the weekend, including several calls they believe went against Los Blancos.

The segment featured the disallowed goals in Real Madrid’s clash with Mallorca, a full review of the referee’s history and what the channel described as repeated mistakes against the team.

Calling out the decisions

It also analysed what it called the “inconceivable error” of Gonzalez Fuertes in failing to disallow Atletico Madrid’s goal against Alaves.

On top of that, Real Madrid TV spent time discussing the penalty awarded to Lamine Yamal in the Vallecas fixture.

“It was the 38th minute of the match. Busquets Ferrer whistles for a non-existent penalty on Lamine Yamal.

“That’s when one of the most serious scandals of recent years arrives: VAR doesn’t work in Vallecas. The play cannot be reviewed, and the referee’s erroneous decision prevails.

“The Rayo player beats Lamine, and there is no penalty. It’s incredible that in a First Division match, VAR stops working.

“Another situation that once again discredits Spanish football,” the broadcast declared about the controversial moment.

Broader criticism beyond referees

But the channel’s focus was not limited to referees. Real Madrid TV also pointed at wider connections off the pitch, mentioning the CEO of Mediapro and his ties to Barcelona.

They brought up last week’s clash between Barça and Mallorca, even recalling the image of a Mallorca supporter crying in the stands after the defeat.

The programme wrapped up by reviewing the balance of refereeing calls for both Barcelona and Real Madrid since the appointment of the new heads of the CTA.

It also highlighted the presence of the president of the refereeing committee in the Vallecas box as another detail worth noting.

With this latest broadcast, Real Madrid TV has reinforced its stance that officiating in La Liga is inconsistent and damaging to the competition’s credibility.
