Real Madrid are no longer able to make signings, but there is still a chance that they could sell any of their players. The transfer window in Türkiye is open until the 12th of September, and one club have set their sights on one of Xabi Alonso’s stars.
Real Madrid have had a strong start to the new season, registering three wins from three in La Liga – they and Athletic Club are the only teams with a 100% record. And they have done this without Raul Asencio, who has yet to play a single minute since a disastrous performance against Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup semi-finals.
Alonso is said to be unconvinced by Asencio, who was a regular starter for Real Madrid last season. And this could mean that he is available for transfer. And this could be to the advantage of Besiktas, with Diario AS reporting that the Turkish giants want to sign the 22-year-old before their transfer window closes.

Despite this, the report states that Asencio has absolutely no intention of leaving Real Madrid, despite being down the pecking order under Alonso. It is the club of his life, and in similar fashion to the likes of Nacho Fernandez before him, he intends to stay and fight for his place for as long as it takes.
It’s clear that the last few months have been very tricky for Asencio, who had a number of poor moments during the Club World Cup earlier in the summer. That has led to him being at least fourth-choice in the centre-back department, but at 22, time is on his side to be able to become a regular starter at the Santiago Bernabeu. And he intends to use that time.
