Granit Xhaka posted a heartwarming video to his Instagram page yesterday, reacting to his daughter’s first word.

With all the bad news going around at the moment with football suspension announcements and viral infections spreading, there’s one more positive moment to report on from the Arsenal camp this week.

As the Arsenal players are at home self-isolating, Granit Xhaka is able to spend time with his wife and young daughter. His wife took a video of the other two together and caught their daughter’s first word on camera. Granit had a touching reaction.

For those who aren’t aware, ‘baba’ is used in many languages to mean ‘father’. Similar to ‘mama’, ‘dada’ or ‘papa’ in English.

Xhaka wrote on Instagram earlier this week that the chance to spend time off with his daughter is “so important” to him, adding “this beautiful time is unique”. Let’s hope they can enjoy the next few weeks without any footballing distractions.
