Manchester United have been given a significant double fitness boost ahead of their highly anticipated clash with Arsenal on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
Both sides will meet in what is arguably the most challenging start either could have wished for. Arsenal, who have finished runners-up in the league for the past three seasons, are determined to finally claim the title. Manchester United, meanwhile, will be desperate to improve after a disappointing campaign last term, in which they finished far closer to the relegation zone than to the top of the table.
Matches between these two historic clubs have consistently been fiercely contested on the pitch and thrilling spectacles for the fans. Arsenal will enter the fixture intent on making a statement with an opening-day victory, while United will be equally motivated to claim an early scalp and set the tone for their season.
The rivalry’s intensity means neither side will be able to afford a slow start. Both managers will be well aware that momentum in the early stages of the campaign can be decisive in the long run.

In a timely boost for Ruben Amorin’s side, The Sun reports that Andre Onana and Joshua Zirkzee have both returned to training ahead of the match. The pair had been sidelined through injury for much of pre-season, missing valuable preparation time. However, their recovery will provide United with added quality and depth as they prepare to take on Mikel Arteta’s men.
Regardless of who makes the starting line-up, Arsenal will need to approach the game with full focus. Every Manchester United player will be determined to impress, especially in such a high-profile fixture. The Gunners will have to be at their best to secure the three points and begin their title challenge on the right note.
