Barcelona are indeed keeping the long-term plan in mind before making any moves in the transfer window. The recent season, however, has shown exactly why it is a must to have a mix of veterans as well in the fray.
As the club hunt for a new winger, they are indeed eyeing players who can provide a relatively long-term fix in the department.
Ivan Perisic, however, has also emerged as a possible signing who can provide depth in the position and bring experience.
Earlier today, it came to light that his salary will not be a problem for Barcelona. Given that Hansi Flick personally endorses him, his arrival is edging closer to reality.
As relayed by Santi Aouna in a recent report, Perisic wants to join Barcelona and is willing to wait for an offer from the Spanish club to arrive. Flick, moreover, is also interested and has even spoken to the player.

For the moment, the player prefers to wait a bit and see if an offer from Barcelona arrives. Until then, he has placed talks with PSV Eindhoven over a contract renewal on hold.
The 36-year-old Croatian veteran would be a sound option for Flick’s plans as a backup attacker, especially given how the team were pressed for resources in the department last season.
There has already been contact with his entourage but an official offer is yet to be made.
Last season, he scored nine goals and provided eight assists in just 27 Eredivisie appearances for PSV. His contract with the club runs out on the 30th of this month and Barcelona will thus look to speed up talks if they intend to sign him this summer.
After all, getting him as a free agent would be wonderful business given their financial situation.
