Jule Brand opened the scoring after 18 minutes, after Sophia Kleinherne’s volley was blocked by Sophia Huerta.

Sophia Smith levelled on 54 minutes, dribbling past the defence with the aid of a kind deflection, before firing past Almuth Schult.

Mallory Pugh soon added what proved to be the deciding goal, a long ball from Andi Sullivan fell her way and she evaded Kathrin-Julia Hendrich to slot home.

Also celebrating was Alex Morgan, who made her 200th appearance for the USWNT.

Paraguay were 2-1 winners over Jamaica, Fabiola Sandoval and Ramona Martinez with first-half goals, before Khadija Shaw pulled one back just after the hour mark from the penalty spot.

Other international friendlies on Sunday saw Luxembourg go down 3-2 to Lithuania and Azerbaijan beaten 2-1 by Croatia.
