Once Bryan Mbeumo’s arrival at Old Trafford is (hopefully) signed and sealed in the coming days, Manchester United will then get to work on other targets.
Considering that all of Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho have been put up for sale this summer, it’s safe to say more attacking reinforcements are essential for Ruben Amorim to have any chance of success ahead of his first full campaign in the dugout.
The outcast quartet have each been linked with several suitors, though none are in concrete negotiations to depart as of yet. Still, with each being told they have no future at the club, it’s widely expected they’ll be offloaded before 2025/2026 gets underway.

As for the options on INEOS’ shortlist after Mbeumo, they remain firm admirers of sought-after Frenchman Hugo Ekitike.
The Eintracht Frankfurt starlet reportedly informed the board of his desire to leave last month, although his prospective departure has been made trickier by the fact that they value him at £85 million. Assuming they want the fee upfront, it will price plenty of his admirers out of a deal.
United, Chelsea and Liverpool are all prepared to offer Ekitike the chance to test his resolve in the English top flight.
The Premier League winners may step up their pursuit imminently after finalising the signing of Milos Kerkez. However, it’s thought they will need to find a buyer for struggling frontman Darwin Nunez before any formal offers can be submitted for his successor.
Surprisingly, of the three teams, United are the only ones to have materialised their interest by holding talks with Eintracht, who signed Ekitike from Paris Saint-Germain last April when activating a £14m buy clause included in his loan terms.
The 23-year-old has played a total of 64 games for the German outfit, scoring 26 goals and assisting a further 14 in all competitions.
When pressed on Ekitike’s situation, Bundesliga expert Christian Falk told CaughtOffside: “There is no completely new update on Hugo Ekitiké.
“Eintracht continue to insist on €100m, but it is questionable whether they will get it. Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United still have him on their radar. Liverpool could make a move once they have sold Darwin Nunez.
“United are the only club to have spoken to Eintracht about Ekitiké so far. There have been no negotiations or even an offer as things currently stand.”
