Speaking at a media round table (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeneß has spoken on the club’s transfer strategy for the rest of the summer.

When asked if any more players will join the Rekordmeister, Hoeneß said: “No more players will come unless two or three players leave first. Max Eberl and Christoph Freund know full well that no one will come unless some prominent players leave.” The club’s former business manager then added: “If theoretically no one leaves, we have three more players. No one else will come. Money at FC Bayern doesn’t come out of someone’s a*s”

Bayern have already completed the signings of João Palhinha from Fulham, Michael Olise from Crystal Palace and Hiroki Ito from VfB Stuttgart for a total of €127m. The club are also hoping to earn at least €100m from the sales of key players such as Joshua Kimmich, Matthijs de Ligt, Leon Goretzka and Leroy Sané to name a handful.

The club can then continue to push to try and sign some of their other targets in this transfer window which is either Xavi Simons, formerly of RB Leipzig and Rennes’ Désiré Doué.

This season will see Bayern try and reclaim their crown as Germany’s best football team and dethrone Bayer Leverkusen however they will face a tough task against Leverkusen as well as a reserging Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.
