With the football on hold at the moment, we’ve been thinking about who gets in Tottenham’s all-time XI.
Today we’re choosing the right-back.
Here are the nominees …
A Uefa Cup and FA Cup winner with Spurs in the 1970s, Joe Kinnear was a mainstay at right-back for almost 10 years in north London.
His no-nonsense style endeared the defender to all in north London who spent all but one season of his professional career with the club.
Another of the 1961 Double-winning side that went down in football history.
A proper north London boy, having been born in Hampstead, Baker played nearly 350 times for Spurs over nine years.
In 2016 he was inducted into the Tottenham Hall of Fame, cementing his legendary status.
A controversial choice perhaps but there’s no getting around the fact that Campbell was awe-inspiring during his nine years at Spurs.
The defender was a true force of nature, who could dance past you with the ball at his feet or simply use his pace and power to send you flying.
A properly world class defender who could operate anywhere along the backline.
Let’s just try and forget his exit, shall we?
Here’s how the team is looking so far …
GK: Pat Jennings RB: Sol Campbell
Check back tomorrow when we will be choosing Tottenham’s greatest ever … left-back.
