Tottenham outcast Bryan Gil is expected to complete a permanent move to Girona.

Spurs have been keen to offload the winger, who would have been out of contract next summer.

Gil spent last season on loan at Girona and reports in Spain suggested that the club were hoping Spurs would terminate the 24-year-old's contract to enable a free transfer.

However, Spurs made it clear they had no intention of doing so, and talks have instead continued over the summer.

Those have reached a resolution on Deadline Day, with the clubs understood to have agreed a fee of £8.6million (€10m) for Gil to join Girona.

The Spaniard is now set to undergo a medical and it is expected that the deal will go through before this evening's deadline, which is set at 11pm BST for La Liga clubs.

Gil has not featured in pre-season under Thomas Frank as he continued his recovery from a knee injury he suffered in March that ended his season prematurely.

It is four years since Gil joined Spurs from Sevilla for a fee of around £21m, plus Erik Lamela, but there have been three loan spells since then.

He will end his Spurs career having failed to score a single goal across 43 appearances in all competitions.

Crystal Palace are interested in the winger and Leeds, where Solomon was on loan last season, are also understood to be a potential option.

Solomon made his return to the Spurs squad against Bournemouth on Saturday for the first time in two years.
